Company Overview:

Professional Linguistic Upper Studies (PLUS) operates English as a Foreign Language (EFL) programs across the world. PLUS U.S. Corporation, headquartered in the New York area, runs summer English language study and travel programs for international high school students across North America. The programs allow students the opportunity to take classes in English and explore the surrounding regions while staying at North American colleges and universities.

Schedule:

This unpaid internship will require 10-15 hours per week for ten weeks from June 15- August 21. Hours can be flexible within normal business hours, Monday through Friday. Start and end date may be flexible for the right candidate.

About the Role:

You will work closely with the Director of North American Operations at the PLUS U.S. Head Office in Hoboken, NJ. You will also work on a virtual basis with the Financial Controller of PLUS LTD and various managers of campuses around North America. You will learn, or gain further experience, to:

  • Work as part of the Accounting Department to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company and clients
  • Assist accounting team with data entry, ad hoc requests, and general week-end closing procedures
  • Support accounts receivable collections efforts to ensure timely cash payment from customers
  • Assist with audit compliance & internal controls
  • Maintain data and keep Excel databases structured and organized
  • Assist with the reconciliation of prepaid cards, credit cards, and cash receipts
  • Assist with employee onboarding within the HR system.
  • Complete special projects as needed and other duties assigned

Qualifications and Desired Skills:

  • Current student status, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree preferably in accounting or related field
  • Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications

Successful candidates will be self-motivated, professional, and adaptable, with attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills, and be able to work independently.
